I live in a part of Northern Ireland which is known for its rain!! Not only that, but right now (early September) it’s got cold, really cold! The darker evenings are coming in quick and the temperature drops drastically at night. Even though saying goodbye to summer is sad to some people, I love nothing more that hearing the rain beating of the window sitting with my feet up in front of our open fire, with a tipple in hand of course! The fire has been alight a few evenings now (which is a delight!), and with the help of Firemizer it stays ablaze for longer with less ash to clean up too.
What is the Firemizer?
“Firemizer is an award-winning fuel saving device that is easy to use and proven to reduce solid fuel usage by up to 33% and minimize creosote in chimneys by up to 57%.”
It helps us to burn fuel more efficiently due to minimising the air flow, which in turn allows your fuel to burn at a much slower rate. I burn both logs and coal, on occasion turf too (it’s an Irish thing!) and have noticed a huge saving on fuel costs. Once the fire is ‘fully loaded’ I don’t have to top it up for quite some time. In fact, there’s been a few occasions where I haven’t needed to add extra fuel at all! Not only that, but the cleaning of ashes is much easier. As everything is burnt into a fine ash, I only have to clean out the fire every 4 days – less cleaning, longer fires and cheaper fuel bills, what’s not to like about this product?
Firemizer say –
“It is manufactured using a patented process to produce a unique stainless-steel alloy fibre grid which is not catalytic and does not contain any chemicals. Firemizer increases the efficiency of your fire in three ways. It slows the air flow to reduce the burn rate of the fuel, it conducts heat evenly across the fire to ensure all fuel is fully combusted and it prevents small fuel fragments falling through the grate or being left unburnt in the ash bed.”
Very simple to fit, the Firemizer is a must to those who have a fire in their home. Simply cut it to fit with scissors, and assemble your fire as normal. It will last for approximately 500 burning hours. That’s equivalent to 6 weeks if the fire is used for 12 hours per day, which is most likely throughout the winter months.
The Firemizer costs £19.99 for a large one at 180mm x 420mm – plus shipping costs.
I highly recommend the Firemizer and think it would make a very useful gift to family and friends. Maybe not for a birthday (I prefer perfume or a bottle of prosecco!) but for a ‘just because’ gift as you know it will save them money on fuel over the colder months ahead.
