Matured for almost a decade in ex-bourbon American Oak barrels, this outstanding single malt Scotch has an incredibly peaty 11.1 PPM phenol content.

Like all peated malts, it has a nose with plenty of smokiness and depth, as well as refreshing green apple, honey sweetness anCnoc’s typical zesty accents of lemon and orange.

The taste of this remarkable single malt whisky starts with sweet and spicy honey and vanilla notes, followed by hints of toffee pushing through with a leathery, smooth undertone and an outline of subtle spices. The pleasantly smoky floral finish of the Rascan then rounds the whole experience up to perfection.

The Rascan is available from a variety of specialist retailers, including the Master of Malt and the Whisky Exchange at an RRP of £52/70cl bottle.

My Verdict

Wow! Having tried this unbelievable drop of liquid gold, I can honestly say that this is one of the finest, smoothest single malt Scotch whiskies I have ever tasted! Worth every penny of its price and more, this will make a fantastic gift not just for Father’s Day, but for any occasion! Highly recommended!
